Wild rice or Indian rice

Although wild rice is a grass (family to which cereals belong, including rice), it is not rice.
Just like rice, it does not contain gluten and has a high nutritional value, in addition to being cultivated in shallow aquatic beds. It is for these features the reason why it is marketed as rice.
It grows in the Great Lakes region of northern Canada and was the sacred food of indigenous tribes in the area, hence also known as Indian rice or Canadian rice.
It is funny how the seeds that were considered sacred, such as Quinoa by the Aztecs, Chia by the Mayans, are nowadays, in fact, foods considered with a high nutritional value.
